Summary:
Mabel Ainsworth misreads her husband Garry’s purchase of an intimate garment and, stung by suspicion, divorces him in Paris. Learning the truth—that it was meant as a monogrammed anniversary gift—she follows Garry back to New York determined to win him back.
At a lively house party, flirtations, planted “evidence,” and a prized chemise fuel a series of bedroom-farce complications involving friends and rivals. After a cascade of misunderstandings, the incriminating garment is retrieved and the couple discover their divorce was never finalized, clearing the way for reconciliation.
