Summary:
A string of daring robberies plagues the K & A Railroad, prompting detective Tom Gordon to go undercover as a masked bandit. Onboard the company president’s train, he meets Madge Cullen, who senses his true intentions even as suspicion and danger surround them.
As Gordon tracks the gang, evidence points to an insider feeding information to the outlaws. With help from his horse Tony and allies met along the line, Gordon exposes the conspiracy, thwarts a kidnapping plot, and brings the bandits to justice.

Background:
Produced and distributed by Fox Film Corporation, the feature adapts Paul Leicester Ford’s novel of the same name. Location photography in Colorado—particularly around Glenwood Springs and Royal Gorge—showcases large-scale train and canyon sequences, with Tom Mix performing signature riding and stunt work. The scenario was written by John Stone, cinematography by Daniel B. Clark, and intertitles by Malcolm Stuart Boylan; the film opened on October 17, 1926.
---
Trivia:
Future star John Wayne worked on the production as a property assistant and is reported to appear as an extra.
Tony the Wonder Horse is prominently featured and performs key action moments integral to the plot.
Much of the film was shot on location in Colorado, including Glenwood Springs and Royal Gorge, giving the action set pieces a distinctive natural backdrop.
Prints of the film survive in archives, and it has been screened at silent film festivals; home video editions often include later musical accompaniments.
William P. Perry composed a new score for modern presentations decades after the original silent release.
