Summary:
Rival underworld figures “Shadow” Brice and “Burley” Walters vie to steal the Denman diamonds. Disguises, double-crosses, and a budding connection between Brice and heiress Daphne Denman complicate the hunt.
When the jewels are seized during a San Francisco ferry crossing, a desperate chase ensues. Brice ultimately overcomes Walters and reveals himself not as a criminal, but as a Secret Service operative working undercover.

Background:
Produced by Charles R. Seeling for his independent Charles R. Seeling Productions and distributed on the states-rights market by Aywon Film Corporation, Stop at Nothing was released in February 1924 as a five-reel melodrama. Contemporary sources list its runtime at approximately 57 minutes, with production and plot details aligning across AFI and later filmographic references.
---
Trivia:
AFI records the physical length at 4,800 feet across five reels, typical for independent features of the mid-1920s.
The plot’s pivotal robbery unfolds aboard a San Francisco ferryboat, reflecting the Bay’s busy pre-bridge ferry era often depicted in period films.
George Larkin and co-star Ollie Kirby were married in real life and collaborated on multiple silent-era projects.
As a 1924 U.S. release, the film entered the public domain on January 1, 2020, under the current U.S. copyright term for published works of that year.
