Background:
Directed by Edward F. Cline and featuring child star Baby Peggy, Captain January was produced as a feature vehicle for one of the most popular children in silent cinema. The film was adapted from the 1891 novel by Laura E. Richards and showcases both tender melodrama and light comic moments typical of family-oriented dramas of the era. Copies of the film have survived and are preserved in film archives, making it one of the few Baby Peggy features available today. 1
