Fire Emblem | GBA | Emulated | RetroArch

Fire Emblem, released for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, was the West’s first taste of Nintendo’s long-running tactical RPG series. Originally just titled Fire Emblem, it’s actually the seventh game in the series and is also known as Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade in Japan. You follow Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector—three young heroes pulled into a web of war, prophecy, and dark sorcery. The game combines grid-based combat, permadeath, and a deeply emotional story, making each decision matter. What makes it unforgettable: 🧠 Tactical grid combat that rewards smart plays ⚔️ Over 30 recruitable characters, each with backstories and class growth 💀 Permadeath — lose a unit in battle, and they’re gone for good 🌱 Leveling and class promotions give characters real progression 💬 Support conversations add depth and bonuses in combat 🎨 Gorgeous sprite animations, especially for crits and spellcasters 📖 Rich storytelling with multiple lords and perspectives The balance of strategy and storytelling, plus the pressure of keeping your favorite units alive, makes Fire Emblem GBA one of the most gripping RPGs on any handheld.
