Although Charlie Chaplin appears only in a supporting role, The Knockout is an important early film showcasing the Keystone style of slapstick comedy. Plot Summary: "Fatty" Arbuckle stars as a lovable but bumbling country boy who decides to enter a prizefighting match to win the heart of his sweetheart (Minta Durfee). After winning a preliminary bout through sheer luck and accident, Fatty is slated to fight the reigning champion, played by Edgar Kennedy. Meanwhile, Charlie Chaplin appears as the crooked referee of the final match. True to Keystone’s tradition, the fight descends into complete chaos, with spectators storming the ring, brawls breaking out everywhere, and Fatty desperately trying to escape.
